Refresher Class

Our Refresher class is a formal 2 hour workshop with hands-on training to re-introduce proper technique and introduce the trained participant in the latest phlebotomy procedures. What is unique about our Refresher course is that it is customized to your specific needs. If blood draws is your primary need we can utilize that time to practice on that. Your 2 hours are your 2 hours!

What will be reviewed:

*Correct procedures and techniques for venipuncture (vein) and capillary(skin) procedures using an evacuated tube system, syringe, winged infusion set (butterfly) and lancet
*Correct order of Draw/Collection
*Safety and Infection control
*Universal precautions and Standard precautions
*Handwashing (20 seconds)
*Review needlestick safety devices
*Isolation and use of PPE
*Avoidance of preanalytical complications
*Documentation and Proper specimen handling
